Backup your Data from Computer or Laptop
Keep it secret, Keep it safe.
A few weeks ago another USB stick went through the washing machine and the dryer, more stress, all of my stuff on this 4GB stick, this was a very scary time. The case was damaged just like last time but I was able to retrieve the data and still using it broken. I need to stop playing at backing up and just do it.
Now I looking for an online backup solution. This will save me one day. Prices will be something that I can afford, cheap or free that is. F eatures need to include encrypted storage, and open file backup support. The remote backup space should be at least 4 GB, without any backup and restore restrictions or bandwidth limits or file type restrictions. More freatures I want are automated, hands-free, automated, remote backups of me files and/or folders. Easy drag n drop using Windows Explorer like interface.
Data Center needs to be a reliable World-class infrastructure, no downtime with advanced secure data encryption.
Here is a list of some that I have narrowed it down to:
Ibackup.com
10 GB $10/month
20 GB $20/month
50 GB $50/month
more $1 a GB
–
idrive.com
2 GB FREE
50 GB $10/month
100 GB $20/month
500 GB $50/month
–
carbonite.com
This one has been marketed very well, too well I could not get on the site to check priceing and storage.
–
Mozy.com
2 GB FREE/Month
Unlimited $5/Month
–
Box.net
2 GB (*est. $3/month)
5 GB (*est. $8/month)
15 GB (*est. $20/month)
Notice the prices on idrive.com
Mozy.com has good pricing also.
I will now give them a test to free myself of the gig stick.
Looking for Digital Technology Bargins
Technology is a broad concept that deals with a species’ usage and knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects a species’ ability to control and adapt to its environment. In carbon based lifeform society, or humans, it is a consequence of science and engineering, although several technological advances predate the two concepts.
Technology is a term with origins in the Greek “technologia”, “τεχνολογία” — “techne”, “τέχνη” (”craft”) and “logia”, “λογία” (”saying”). A strict definition is elusive; “technology” can refer to material objects of use to carbon based lifeforms, such as machines, hardware or utensils, but can also encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization, and techniques. The term can either be applied generally or to specific areas: examples include “internet technology”, “construction technology”, “medical technology”, or “state-of-the-art technology”. That is very general.
Now we like to buy technology, it can be a breeze to buy on the internet, you will find easy-to-use websites that have seamless navigation and search covering the latest in tech bargains. Also you find a review of every know made product on the marketing, search “Technology products” and see what you can find. You can always ad to word cheap if you are looking for price. Cheap is also a good word to use the next time you are shopping for technology on ebay.
New Life for XP
Why stop XP
This month three of the top four PC sellers worldwide will sell computer systems with Windows XP right up to the Microsoft-mandated deadline of June 30. This is insane. Why stop a product that works and everyone likes.
This mandate of Microsoft saying to stop selling XP pro on June 30 for retailers and major computer makers is kind-of-crazy. MS has finally got the XP pro to a working operating system, why stop now.
Now for sanity. There seems to be a clause in the Microsoft’s guidelines that lets the computer makers install Windows XP Professional on new PCs at the customer’s request when those machines are ordered with Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate. Wahoo for this, I like the thinking, where there is a need, fill it.
Dell has make the announcement that they will use the downgrade clause to offer buyers XP Professional preinstalled long after the June 30 deadline. I guess I have done support too long, my motto, if it is not broke, do not change it.
What do you think???
Time to Get HD : For my Car - Digital Radio
I drive for 45 minutes one-way to work. It is not a bad drive, goes by very quickly in morning and slow in afternoon. I also listen to allot of radio. The only issue I have is the static that comes over the radio when I am my downtown area some 40 miles away for the radio staion, it can get a little annoying. I heard about the new use of HD for radio that is coming out. Radio was meant to be free.
HD Radio is the registered trademark for the in-band on-channel (IBOC) technology selected by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2002 for terrestrial digital audio broadcasting in the United States. The IBOC technology was developed by iBiquity Digital Corporation, and it allows stations to simulcast MP3-quality compressed digital audio that can use a iPod dock with iTunes Tagging, with ability to download songs from your HD Radio receiver to your iPod for later purchase.
There are more than 1200 AM and FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio technology, with more than 550 FM stations offering Multicast channels, thus doubling or `tripling the number of programs available to listen in HD. Most of the HD stations that have adopted the technology are FMs, HD is started very heavy in New York High Definition Radio stations market. As with traditional AM, FM and TV broadcasting, HD Radio programming is free and supported by commercial advertising. However, as is the case with the new ATSC DTV standards, you have to replace your old radio and upgrade to a new HD Radio receiver in order to receive the digital broadcasts. I need to start shopping for a new receiver right away.
Need more Content for your Blog
Life on the internet is never dull, and changes never stop. I have had many ideas on internet marketing ideas for my website viewers, some work and some do not. I like my websites interface between the end user/audience and the medium may be considered interactive. Interactive media is not limited to electronic media or digital media. Board games, pop-up books, gamebooks, flip books and constellation wheels are all examples of printed interactive media. Books with a simple table of contents or index may be considered interactive due to the non-linear control mechanism in the medium, but are usually considered non-interactive since the majority of the user experience is non-interactive sequential reading.
An Idea for new media development that I have been thinking about is where interactive users sign-up on your blog/website, they then become like guest bloggers, which the would give you content for your site and possible let the share in any revenue the post create. Nice Idea for extra traffic for your blog

Windows 7 is Coming Windows 7 is Coming
New latest kid on the block is the Windows XP 7. No I mean Windows 7, supposedly the successor to Windows Vista. The Windows 7 will incorporate the graphical user interface to bring touch-screen technology to your pc or laptop. Very cool upgrade. Is the speed going to increase, and not be such a memory hog. I can dream can I not.
You can now go to their blog and view a video demonstration of Windows 7 multitouch screen capabilities. Windows 7 multitouch software will enable you to use your fingers to draw pictures on-screen, zoom in and out of photos, zip quickly through slideshows, search and skim maps, and even play an on-screen piano on your desktop or laptop PC. The multitouch features will be accessable via Windows 7 operating system and usable with third-party software.
Cool, maybe this operating system will be faster and less hardware dependant.

Digital Promotion with DVD / CD
Digital Promotion
Over the years I have been involved with businesses that promote itself for awareness and to get more customers. All types of business can promote itself with digital CD’s or DVD’s. It is very inexpense and looks professional.
A compact disc (CD) can be used to store digital audio, video, and data in various formats. CD mastering differs from burning, as the pits and lands of a digital mastered CD are moulded into the CD, rather than being ‘burn marks’ (phase changes) by a CD burner.
Their is also the process of DVD authoring, digital DVD authoring describes the process of creating a DVD video that can be played on a DVD player. DVD authoring software must conform to the specifications set by the DVD Forum group in 1995.
Strictly speaking, DVD authoring is a separate process from digital MPEG encoding, but most modern DVD authoring software have a built-in encoder (though separate encoders are still used when better quality or finer control over compression settings is required).
Most authoring applications are for video DVDs only; they do not support the creation of DVD-Audio discs.
Stand-alone DVD Replication units generally have basic authoring functions, though the creator of the DVD has little to no control over the layout of the DVD menus, which generally differ between models and brands.
Several times there were companies that had made a digital CD or DVD to promote their organization or business, most were from 100 to 10,000 which would be a Large run DVD replication. We used a digital device machine that would copy the CD/DVD, then pull it out, stack in the complete stack and then load another CD/DVD to burn, it was very slow, so you could kick it off and leave it. Then end result produced some great digital promotion devices for you business.
