Are ready to retire? Are you looking for your Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plan? Are you shopping for Medicare Advantage Plan that will include a PDP? Looking into Medicare Part D.

This is one of the first times that I have seen our US government encouraging our senior citizens to join a PDP as soon as you are eligible. The government is thinking ahead, the law of averages shows a strong probability that as you get older, above 70 your costs for prescription drugs will increase. I know this first hand with parents over 80. From what I can tell the cost of food is running pace with the cost of medical prescriptions, combined with the added costs for any Medicare Part D deductible. Something very interesting  from the government is that they will charge you a 1 percent penalty for failing to join a drug plan during your enrollment time frame. What? Why? Third base.

This Medicare prescription drug benefit is in its third year of operation. The government wants you to join a PDP even if you are not currently spending a great deal out-of-pocket money for drugs. Anyone  can take part in the Medicare D Enrollment ,  if you have been enrolled in Medicare Part A plan or Medicare Part B drug plans, currently or before. Plan changes take place between November 15 and December 15. All of these governmenta run drug plans are regulated by the Centers for Medicare.

The Prescription drug plan has differences between traditional Medicare Supplements plans with a separate PDP and the Medicare Advantage drug Plans with a built in PDP. The government even has a Medicare drug assistance  program that is designed for limited income and limited resources individuals. The internet online technology enables you to get  FREE cost comparisons of Medicare Part D Drug plans online and manage your plan.
