When we grew up there was one sound that was so familiar to us and that was the sounds that our Grandfather clock made. We called her Old Faithful because we always counted on her even when the power went out. She always chimed which became a sound of comfort many times during some really scary storms. I was reminded on how much that clock meant to my childhood when we were in a clock store one day and the clocks were everywhere. My children looked with wonder at all of the beauty that were in the clocks that they had never noticed in our clocks at home before. Suddenly the grandfather clock went off beside us and that old familiar sound was heard again. I looked at my childrens’ faces and they immediately smiled and said they hoped that mommy picked that one. Needless to say we all feel in love with that clock that day and brought her home. I can not imagine a home without an old faithful. I know that there are many people that love their clocks as we do. Our clock is a mantle clocks. There are many different styles of grandfather clocks that you can see online. They have some of the most beautiful music they play on the quarter and half hours to me but I have not heard a grandfather clock yet that did not sound beautiful. There are so many to choose from. Between the different styles, wood grains and sizes as well as the music and chimes all the way to the faces. There are a lot of choices to make but when you decide on the one for you they are so enjoyable to own.
