My wife and I have three children so Christmas is a huge ordeal at our house. Our little stair step children love to get up Christmas morning and see all the presents laid out so beautifully around the tree. As with everything that goes on in life what goes on behind the scenes is unknown. My wife and I have been up all night building and laying it all out. We have been tearing down boxes and removing tags and most of all we have been laughing! We have a tradition that my wife and I exchange a small gift before we start on the “Santa display”. We then do the gifts and after wards we have a cup of cocoa usually talking about how we out did ourselves and how lucky we are. Last years gift from my wife was a box cutter. What lead to that was we were as usual out in the freezing cold trying to hurry and tear down boxes. My neighbor was doing the same as we laughed and spoke with him about this is what our parents had to do and now it was pay back. He has 5 girls and said he actually begged them not to ask Santa for bikes because he dreaded building them. The store had too many to build and could not get to his so my wife continued on the boxes and he and I built bikes for a few hours! When we finished my wife was long done with both of our stacks of boxes. She had used his box cutter and it went twice as fast at least! We had not even thought about using one and it was quieter! When my kids asked me what my favorite gift was for Christmas I told them it was my box cutter their response was “they do not want to grow up if that is your best gift!”
