A few years back the want for DSL internet was great but only for phone vendors and cable providers. There was a large population that did not fit that description, because they were to far away from the internet server hub. Once you get past a certain length in cable you loose high speed internet. Then they came out with Satellite Internet. This product sold like gang busters. I knew several vendors that were installing ten units a day or more. The folks that could not get DSL or high speed internet were in love with the service. I had several customers at the time on satellite internet, it worked very well from the consumers stand point. You just plug the ethernet cable into the wall and the service was on. You were getting DSL speed from the satellite internet which made everyone happy. This meant that alot of people were getting access to the internet that only had dial-up before. You can remember how slow dial-up internet was. I spent two years studying my genealogy online with slow internet, it took hours and hours to find data that I needed, but I was able to find what I needed. Now with high speed internet any research time goes by very fast.
