The rise of .ME

I mentioned this friday, GoDaddy launched the sale of .m domain extensions. The servers were on overload. Godaddy sold over 20,000 .Me domain names at there register site in the first 24 hours.

20,000 x 19.95 = $399,000 USD not bad for a day of just taking orders. Godaddy is calling this a huge sucess, largest launch in company history. With any large internet sales with tens of thousands of folks via for a lucrative .me domain there are bound to be problems and their were.

May be I will get on the next big domain launch.

idea for one  youknow.me

Domains.me gold rush Isit.me couldbe.me Itis.me

Today the domain extensions “.me” went on sale at GoDaddy. There was a massive rush to get and register highly desirable .me domain names. I know by noon they were already selling the .me domain sites on forums. Since you had to pay $19.95 a year times two, the opening bids were $50.

The requests for the .ME open registration was so great there were more than a few issues. Like several people buying the same .me domain, thinking they all purchased the domain. I would hate to be the one that sorts that out. Not to mention some law suites I could see popping up. I have used GoDaddy for years and they are super about taking care of you when a problem arrives with a refund. Not sure is will surfice on this issue of the .me domains. The latest gold rush. I should of got the domian “ho.me” for a home furnishing site. Oh well.

Leave.me your favorite.me website.me na.me…….I like the na.me better
There is a lot of great words of.me.

Stranger that fiction: MS/Yahoo Search

Can this be true, Microsoft may be the proud owner of the Yahoo search only. This has come about after a second try by Microsoft to buy the entire Yahoo company. As usually Yahoo rejected the bid. Now it is being know tha MS might just want to purchase the search business part.  I am not sure if Yahoo would be in for that. We will keep our eyes open to see how this soap opera takes hold.

Acquire Knowledge on Interplanetary travel

Finding things from the internet for me has become a passion, you can littlerly spending thousands of hours of your life searching for your knowledge prize. A search engine is an information retrieval system designed to help find information stored on a computer system. In the most popular form of search, items are documents or web pages and the criteria are words or concepts that the documents may contain. Search engines help to minimize the time required to find information and the amount of information which must be consulted. Be careful not to get too overloaded. The most popular form of a search engine is a Web search engine which searches for information on the public World Wide Web. Other kinds of search engines include enterprise search engines, which search on intranets, desktop search engines, and mobile search engines. Search engines provide an interface to a group of items that enables users to specify criteria about an item of interest and have the engine find the matching items within the group. There are several varieties of syntax in which a search engine user can express a query. Some methods are formalized and require a strict, logical and algebraic syntax. Other approaches are less strict and allow for a less defined query. One form of a less-restricted query syntax is referred to as Natural Language Search, which is a term typically used to describe web search engines that apply natural language processing of some form. For example, instead of searching for one or two words, a query could consist of an English sentence or paragraph. A natural language search engine will then parse the query into words and evaluate searches for these words. This places less burden on the search engine user to formulate a specific query using restrictive, and sometimes difficult to learn, syntax. A second definition of natural language search engines reflects how the search engine performs indexing, unrelated to the query syntax. In the world of search there is a unique new people and information search engine called spock.com. Mr. Spock was from my favorite TV show of all time. Honest I have every episode on VHS. Along with a search result, the search engine covers people’s profiles listed in areas on the web where they can be found (Wikipedia, LinkedIn, blog, etc). Spock will show links to any news stories relating to them. Spock is a user oriented search where people can contribute. A very nice search engine, tools to use to acquire the knowledge of interplanetary travel, like warp drive. :)
