Thanksgiving holiday is usually celebrated on the fourth or last Thursday in November. This is also the end of the harvesting season. Thanksgiving is also an annual Federal holiday to express thanks for one’s material and spiritual possessions. Most everyone will celebrate thanksgiving by gathering at home with their family or friends for a holiday feast.

The first recorded Thanksgiving ceremony took place on September 8, 1565 when 600 Spanish settlers under the leadership of Menéndez de Avilés. Aviles landed in the area thatis now St. Augustine, Florida and held a gathering of Thanksgiving for their safe delivery to the New World.

Annual room makeover

One thing that my family likes to do is do a makeover on one of our rooms at least once a year, sometimes two rooms a year. The rub with this can be the room that was changed last or before is the one they want to re-do again. The room that seems to be on top of the list to changed is the bathroom. The bathroom is ok to change, unless I have to change the floor tiles, shower stall or toliets. I will be good for new paint, change the goute color and maybe the bathroom vanities. Performing a re-do can be good because it makes everyone happy.

Have you noticed lately that the cell phone PDA technology has taking off like gangbuster over the last year or so.  Starting with the iPhone, that was a major marketing revenue generating marketing program. Now the iPhone has now past the Razor phone as the most owned or poplular phone. Lets not forget the gPhone from Google, a cell phone pda phone with Google software built-in.  Do you think Google wil make their employees get rid of an Apple iPhone and get a gPhone now they have one??? That would nice to be a fly on the wall at that meeting.  The cell phone pda accessories for these phones should be a hot item for the holidays.  Do not forget the Blackberry is coming up a new phone on Nov. 21.  Great for us consumers

Comcast Limits Internet Usage

Comcast Corp. Announces it will limit the amount of data its Internet customers can send and receive each month to 250 gigabytes, effective Oct. 1.

The Philadelphia-based cable-television, Internet, phone and media company said that if a customer exceeds the limit and is among the heaviest users of its Internet service twice within six months, it will suspend the customer’s service for a year.

What kind of supid idea is this.  When we were land line base we could use the telephone as much as we wanted, there never seemed to be a problem there. But it seems that Comcast is in business to make money, would you not agree. Then why is a for-profit company wanting to punish internet users for high volume usage, just charge them more each month and increase your bottom line.  Whoever is making this an issue is not geared for the company making a profit.  My motto, is “if someone asks how much, you give them a price” Never say I do not want to sale it.

Google shuts down Blogger blogs

Google decided to put its foot in its mouth with an attempt to rid the  Blogger service from sites they think is spam blogs (splogs). Some how Google made a mistake and flagged a large number good legit blog sites due to an error bug in Googles software that is used to detect Blogger blogs using some algorithm to detect spam blogs.

Instead of Google telling the publishers that they need to clean up their blogs, Google sends e-mail after they shutdown and creating a mass group of horrified publishers of the shutdown blogs. This e-mail tells them that their blog is classified as spam. That is some outstanding customer service, I would say.

Google states that, “We want to offer our sincerest apologies to affected bloggers and their readers.”  “At Blogger, we strongly believe that you own and should control your posts and other data. We understand that you trust us to store and serve your blog, and incidents like this one are a betrayal of that trust.” This seems the actions that is taken just like PageRank. Just kill everyone and hope the feed back is not be to overwelming.

One day Google maybe will be proactive about communicating what will happen ahead of time to give us webmaster a little time to deal with death blow.

When we all thought the milestone of a billion webages indexed by Google search engine was amazing data base. Google reached the billion indexed billion webpage milestone was in the year 2000. This 1 Trillion webpage index could be the reason that the internet seems to be getting slow, and the reason my websites are being ranked number one

The news came on the Official Google Blog, where the company announced that they are now tracking 1 trillion unique URLs on the web.

This means we can find content from 1 trillion - 1,000,000,000,000 unique URLs on the web at once. Wonder how many computers do you need to hold this many sites with content? These numbers will multiply very quickly and fast. Over the next 5 years we could see the internet users double as soon as some of the other countries become more technical. Many of the Asian countries will almost double internet users. When India gets fully online then they will double again.

How long does it take to count to 1,000,000,000,000????  A very long time
